EATING DISORDERS TRAINING for PROFESSIONALS
|
A one-day comprehensive, training in eating disorders for counsellors, therapists and other mental health professionals, facilitated by Harriet Frew (Accred; MBACP Therapist; MSc Nutrition).
'I wanted to take the time to write and thank you for such an informative and enjoyable training session on Saturday. Your delivery was an excellent combination of factual information and the opportunity for some thoughtful group discussion. The break out rooms worked very well for the smaller groups too. I thought we had a lovely group of people on the course. My thought that a whole days' training on Zoom would be quite arduous. This was not the case at all and the day went very quickly, so thank you! I've just signed up to the Body Image course so I'll see you again in November'.
Jo - Counsellor

Increasing numbers of people are struggling with eating disorders
- Studies indicate that around ¼ of eating disorder sufferers are male.
- 85% of people with eating disorders are not underweight. This means that many eating disorder symptoms are often hidden.
- BEAT - the national eating disorders charity (UK) has seen an 81% increase in contact across all Helpline channels. This includes a 162% rise in social media contact and a 139% surge in online group attendance (the toll of the pandemic).
- The Good Childhood Report in 2021 highlights appearance as a leading cause of unhappiness among young people and indicates that appearance concerns are increasing year on year.

- Harriet will then take you through specific knowledge, skills and techniques, which can be used when supporting clients with eating disorders.
- Detailed and comprehensive training manual as an ongoing reference tool.
- Access to recording of training afterwards and full online version of course.

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for your Eating Disorder Course for Professionals. The course was exceptional and has already proven to be an invaluable resource in my work with coaching clients. I have also avidly been listening to the podcast and sharing relevant episodes with clients.
Your course has significantly enhanced my ability to support clients struggling with eating disorders. It has provided me with much-needed reassurance and boosted my confidence in my approach to this complex issue. Given the prevalence of trauma and the recurrence of eating disorders among menopausal women, the course content is particularly relevant to my work.
